GV Data Capture

In retail businesses, an area that is often a considerable source for losses is the Point-of-Sale (POS). Employees quickly become familiar with cash handling procedures and find ways to circumvent safeguards. Common problems are excessive discounts known as "sweet heart deals", refunds in which product is not actually returned, and "No Sale" transactions for legitimate sales. These types of problems can be difficult to catch using video alone.

The GV-Data Capture Box is specifically designed for these situations. In conjunction with a Sentry V Series DVR, the GV-Data Capture Box can record and display transaction data from your POS System. The data from each transaction is directly overlayed onto the video and a searchable database is created allowing you to pinpoint video with abnormal transactions. The GV-Data Capture box is an excellent add-on to any V Series video security system.

Key Features:

Search Video Files for Transaction Data: You can search for POS transaction data by keyword or by transaction event and then play back that segment of video. By comparing transaction data to video events, you can easily identify potential fraud and other wrongdoings.

Abnormal Transaction Alerts: This feature allows you to define abnormal transactions, such as transactions under or over a certain dollar amount, and the automatically activate an alert via email, SMS or by pager.

Superimposing Transaction Data: Transaction data can be displayed on screen and/or on the video file. There are 6 pre-defined locations you may chose to have the transaction data displayed on the video display as well as "clean time" that will clear the transaction data after a specified period of time. The text font, text color, background color and text alignment are all customizable.

POS Field Filter: Allows the user to setup a field filter that will display the results in the system log based on pre-defined transaction criteria. For example, all the transactions that contain the keyword "chips".

Cash Drawer Input Setting: An input module can be linked to the cash drawer so that whenever the cash drawer is opened, a signal will be sent to the Sentry V Series DVR and the transaction will be recorded in the system log.

POS Data Sender: This application allows the support for graphic-mode POS systems in addition to the text mode systems that are already supported by the GV-Data Capture box. To attach a graphic-mode POS system, an additional USB keypro and the POS Data Sender program are required.
